Pamela Anderson visits Vancouver KFC store
After protesting for more than five years about how KFC treats chickens, PETA, People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals is claiming a victory over the food franchise chain.
KFC Canada has introduced a new soy-based, mock-chicken sandwich to its menu, and a promise to treat it's chickens humanely. On Monday, Pamela Anderson, one of PETA's A-list celebrity campaigners enjoyed her first taste of victory, by surprising the unsuspecting staff at this location in the city's West End.
"It's very Canadian of them. Very forward thinking. I'm very proud Canada KFC was the first to do it. Hopefully everyone else follows suit,'' she said.
It's unclear how Americans will respond to the veggie sandwich. A warning for true vegans , the soy patties are fried in the same oil as all those real chicken pieces KFC cooks up.
(Or was it?)
