People who annoy you: Naggers

...[Don "Moose"] Lewis wants to start a new basketball league of all white players.

Lewis says the race requirement is "just a hook", he just wants to present a fun product, after all, no one is going to pay attention to him or his league unless there is some sort of hook.

He claims he is not a racist, and does not want to promote hate.

He just doesn't get it.

At least, I hope he just doesn't get it, because he can learn, if he wants to.

I spoke with Lewis by phone to write the post, and got the impression he fundamentally couldn't understand why anyone would be offended, in the same way South Park's Stan Marsh couldn't understand why Token was so upset over Stan's father's use of the word "nigger".

Simply not understanding something doesn't make one a bad person, because we can all learn.
Wilful ignorance, on the other hand, is never good.

Lewis was interviewed Monday March 29 by Jason Jones of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
"It is unfair to call me [Lewis] a racist...  ...I was a child of integration, forced integration by the government.

And let me tell you something, you want to deal with racism?

Friends of your that are on the white basketball team are pushed off the team because now, all of a sudden, you've got very talented black athletes that are going to the same school and the coach wants to win.

You want to talk about racism?  I've lived racism."

So, apparently he's upset because he's an untalented basketball player who wasn't picked for the team?

Welcome to my life.

I'm sorry to say it, because I sincerely believed otherwise, but Lewis is as racist, and his basketball league is racist.

The all-white basketball league isn't a hook, it is an extension of the man himself and his yearning for the idealized memory of a time which never existed.
